Graphic design for events and courses at The People’s Forum from Sep 2021- Nov 2023

The People’s Forum is a movement incubator for working class and marginalized communities to build unity across historic lines of division at home and abroad. It is an accessible educational and cultural space that nurtures the next generation of visionaries and organizers who believe that through collective action a new world is possible.

While I worked at The People’s Forum, I was able to reflect on the responsibilities of the designer and what it means to design for social movements. To win the battle of ideas, we must be able to compete with the ruling class, its endless resources, and its powerful media apparatus.

We were building on top of the existing aesthetic and the creation process was deeply collaborative. I learned here (what I didn’t learn in art school) about what it means for art to be both deeply personal and political.
